Ingredients
  

Batter
  • 3 ripe bananas ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
Brown Butter Frosting
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter for browning
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix mashed bananas, sugar, oil, and eggs until well combined. Add flour and baking soda, then stir until just combined.
  3. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  4. While the bars cool, brown the butter in a saucepan until golden and fragrant. Remove from heat.
  5. Mix browned butter with powdered sugar and vanilla to make frosting. Spread over cooled bars.

Notes

For best results, use very ripe bananas for natural sweetness.
